Excel to JPG

School administrators, office coordinators, and bookkeepers regularly need to distribute budget summaries, staff rotas, or fee tables without emailing bulky spreadsheet workbooks. This desk converter turns your Excel or OpenDocument worksheets into compact JPG pictures that display cleanly in team chat threads and staff newsletters. Workbooks are processed over HTTPS by LibreOffice Calc on our server to fit each tab onto one page, while pdf.js finishes rendering each sheet as an image on your computer.

How to convert Excel to JPG

  1. Select your XLSX, XLS, ODS, or CSV file from your workplace drive or desktop folder.
  2. Choose your required "Resolution" and slide the "JPG quality" control to balance file size and visual clarity.
  3. Open More settings and type numbers into "Only these sheets" if you want specific roster tabs.
  4. Download individual sheet JPGs or save the complete set of worksheets in a ZIP archive.

Workplace chat updates, email attachments, and confidential server processing

Sharing raw spreadsheet files across staff chat channels or parent mailing lists creates friction when colleagues view messages on mobile phones. Converting a monthly rota, departmental expense summary, or classroom supply list into a JPG graphic lets recipients view the table directly inside the conversation feed. Workbooks up to 95 MB travel securely over HTTPS to our conversion server, where LibreOffice Calc generates an intermediate PDF containing each worksheet on a single page so that wide tables are never split apart.

The server permanently deletes your workbook and the temporary PDF immediately after returning results to your browser. The browser then employs pdf.js to draw each worksheet into a distinct JPG file bordered with a thin white margin, labeled sequentially as budget-sheet-1.jpg. Several workbooks in the queue are handled sequentially, and CSV files produce a single sheet image.

Resolution presets, image compression, and sheet layout rules

You can adjust picture dimensions via "Resolution", with choices ranging from "96 DPI (same as on screen)" for lightweight previews up to "150 DPI (sharp)" as the office default, followed by "200 DPI" and "300 DPI (print)". For expansive worksheets, the engine scales down output dimensions to remain under 16,000 pixels on the long edge and 40 megapixels overall. Desk workers can also set a print area or divide long tables in Excel prior to conversion. The "JPG quality" slider spans from 30 to 100 with a default of 90, keeping image files compact for quick distribution in emails and group chats.

Exported pictures show calculated formula values, numeric formatting, cell background fills, drawn borders, and embedded charts. The on-screen editing grid is not drawn, so unbordered rows rest cleanly against the white background. Hidden rows and columns are left out; hidden tabs are still exported, so list only the tabs you want under "Only these sheets". Fonts not present on the server are substituted with comparable typefaces. If your team requires a multi-page printable document, select Excel to PDF, or explore PDF to JPG and Image to Excel.

Questions

Can staff members open these sheet pictures on smartphones without Excel?

Yes. The generated JPG files open in standard photo viewers across mobile phones, tablets, and email programs without requiring office software.

Why are sheet grid lines missing from my exported table image?

The grey editing grid in Excel is not cell formatting, so it never appears. Give the table borders in Excel (Home, Borders, All Borders), save, and export again.

Can I export only the department summary sheet from a large workbook?

Yes. Expand More settings and enter the tab number into "Only these sheets", such as 2, to convert only that specific worksheet.
