How to use the Delete PDF Pages
- Add the PDF you want to trim.
- Enter the pages to remove, separated by commas. You may use ranges like 6-8, and “end” stands for the final page.
- Press Delete and download the shorter document.
Counting pages the right way
Use the position of the page in the file, starting at 1, as shown in the thumbnail strip of your viewer. The page number printed in a footer can be different, especially in reports that begin numbering after a title page.
At least one page has to remain. If your list covers the whole document, the tool stops and says so instead of producing an empty file.
What happens to removed content
The deleted pages are taken out of the page list, and images or text that only they used are not written into the new file. That is why removing a page with a scanned ID or bank details is a sensible way to keep it out of a shared copy.
Fields, links and annotations on the pages you keep survive. A bookmark or internal link that jumped to a removed page no longer goes anywhere.
Several files with the same clean-up
Add a batch of PDFs and every one of them loses the same page numbers. That works well when every export from a system starts with an identical cover page that should go.
When you want to keep only a handful of pages from a long file, it is faster to list those pages in Extract PDF pages than to list everything else here.
Questions
Will the PDF become smaller?
Usually, by roughly the amount of images and text that appeared only on the removed pages.
Is the original file changed?
No. A new PDF is saved; the file on your disk stays as it was, and nothing is uploaded.
Can I see the pages before deleting?
The tool does not show thumbnails. Open the PDF in your viewer first and note the positions of the pages you want gone.
