How to use the Excel to PDF converter
- In your spreadsheet app, set the print area, page orientation and scaling, then save the workbook.
- Drop the XLSX, XLS, ODS or CSV files onto this page.
- Convert, then download each PDF or a ZIP holding all of them.
Pages follow your print settings
LibreOffice Calc prints the workbook to PDF the way it would print to paper. A saved print area, landscape orientation, fit-to-width scaling, header rows set to repeat and manual page breaks are honoured, and all sheets go into one PDF in the order of their tabs.
Without saved print settings, a wide sheet is cut into page-sized blocks: the left columns for every row first, then the next set of columns. Choosing Fit to 1 page wide in Page Setup keeps an invoice or report table on a single page width.
Values, charts and plain CSV
The PDF shows each cell’s calculated value, never the formula. Charts and pictures placed on a sheet are drawn into the page, and sheet names become bookmarks so a multi-tab report is easy to navigate.
A CSV carries no layout, so it is read as UTF-8 comma-separated text and printed as a simple grid on portrait pages. That is fine for a short list; for a long export, open it in a spreadsheet, set column widths and print settings, and convert the saved workbook.
Spreadsheets on our server
Workbooks often contain salaries, client names or prices. The file travels over HTTPS to our server, is printed to PDF by a sandboxed process with no internet connection, and its temporary folder is wiped.
The original and the PDF are deleted right after the result is returned. File names and contents are not logged.
Questions
Why so many pages?
Most often no print area was saved and the table is too wide for a single page. A forgotten value many rows under the data can also stretch the printed range. Set a print area and convert again.
Are hidden rows printed?
No. Anything hidden in the sheet stays out of the PDF, the same as a normal print from Excel.
What about XLSM files with macros?
They are not accepted. Save a plain XLSX copy first; macros would not run during conversion anyway.
