Extract pages from a PDF

Often only part of a document is needed: the signed declaration from a contract bundle, one payslip from an annual export, the two pages of a manual that cover your device. List those pages and get them back as a new PDF.

How to use the Extract PDF Pages

  1. Add the PDF.
  2. Type the pages you want in the order they should appear, for example 4, 1, 15-18.
  3. If you need separate single-page files rather than one document, tick the checkbox for one PDF per page.
  4. Press Extract and save the result, or the ZIP when there are several files.

Writing the page list

The new file follows your order exactly, so “9, 1-3” starts with page 9. “end” picks the final page and “20-” takes everything from page 20 onward, which helps when you do not know how long the file is.

A page that appears twice in your list is only included once. If you really need a page repeated, Reorder PDF pages accepts duplicates.

Choosing between extract, split and delete

Extract builds one new document from the pages you name. Split cuts the entire file into several parts, and Delete returns the whole file minus the pages you list.

Pages are copied as they are, so a typed page keeps selectable text and a scanned page keeps its resolution and paper size.

Everyday paperwork examples

Landlords and employers often ask for one recent payslip or one month of a statement. Pull that page out of the full export rather than sending everything with your other details on it.

For a set of signature pages that each need to go to a different person, list them all and tick the one-file-per-page box; the ZIP button then gives you every page as its own PDF in one download.

Questions

What if I type a page number that is too high?

You get an error instead of a file, stating the real page count of the PDF, so you can correct the numbers and try again.

Does this alter my original PDF?

No. The pages are copied into a new file in your browser. The source is only read.

Can I pull out the text or pictures instead of pages?

Use PDF to Text for the words, or PDF to JPG and PDF to PNG to get whole pages as images.
