How to use the Split PDF
- Add the PDF. Several files can be added and all of them are cut with the same rule.
- Choose “Every N pages” and enter a number, or choose “By page ranges” and write the ranges, for example 1-4, 5-12, 13-end.
- Press Split and save each part, or use Download all to receive one ZIP.
Two ways to cut
Equal chunks suit regular documents: a stack of two-page invoices scanned together becomes one PDF per invoice with N set to 2. Setting N to 1 produces a separate file for every page.
Ranges suit irregular documents. Separate them with commas; each one becomes a file. “end” or “last” means the final page, “9-” runs to the end, and ranges may overlap or leave pages out entirely.
What the parts look like
Every part is named from the original file plus its page span, such as statements-p5-12.pdf, so the pieces stay in order in a folder. The pages themselves are copied unchanged, keeping text selectable and scans at full resolution.
Each part carries only the fonts and images its own pages use. Fonts shared across the whole document get stored once per part, so the parts together can weigh more than the source file.
Questions
Why did I get an error saying the result would be the same file?
The settings you chose would return every page in a single part, for example N larger than the page count. Lower N or type ranges instead.
I just need three pages pulled out. Is this the right tool?
Extract PDF pages is quicker for that: list the pages and you get them back as one new file.
Are the parts uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read and split inside your browser, which also means there is no wait in a server queue for long documents.
Can a whole folder of PDFs be split in one go?
Yes. Every file gets the same rule, its parts are listed beneath it, and Download all bundles the parts of all files into one ZIP.
