Resize PDF pages

International business often pairs overseas partners using US Letter with regional offices running standard A4 paper. This tool converts documents between standard paper dimensions, scales oversized drawings for desktop printers, and unifies mixed scans. Processing takes place directly in your browser, keeping commercial contracts and financial records private.

How to resize a PDF

  1. Add your PDF contracts, reports, or schematics to the processing queue.
  2. Pick the target size needed for your office printer, such as A4, US Letter, US Legal, A3, or A5.
  3. Choose whether to match individual page orientation or enforce portrait or landscape throughout.
  4. Press Resize to download the adjusted documents ready for printing or filing.

Bridging international office paper standards

Sending a US Letter agreement (216 × 279 mm) to an office loaded with A4 paper (210 × 297 mm) often triggers printer errors or clips margin text. Converting Letter to A4 scales the artwork to roughly 97% to fit the narrower European sheet width comfortably. Conversely, preparing an A4 contract for North American partners scales to about 94% to prevent legal clauses from being chopped off at the bottom of a Letter sheet.

You can also downscale large A3 schematics (297 × 420 mm) down to A4 for convenient distribution at staff meetings, or format company handbooks for compact A5 booklets (148 × 210 mm). Setting margins to 6 mm or 13 mm ensures safe white space away from the physical printer grab rollers and office hole punches.

Maintaining document legibility and text layers

Because every sheet is transferred as a native vector object rather than a recompressed screenshot, font definitions and high-resolution scanned graphics remain completely untouched. Office staff can continue searching for contract keywords, copying invoice numbers, and viewing crisp vector lines at any zoom level.

If you use the “Only shrink” option, pages that are already smaller than your target format will sit centred at their true scale without unnecessary magnification. Files are assigned descriptive names ending in tags like -a4.pdf or -letter.pdf, making it simple to keep international print versions separated from source files in your filing folders.

Handling forms, bookmarks, and links

When pages are rebuilt on fresh paper sheets, dynamic form fields, clickable web links, annotations, and outline bookmarks do not transfer. If an employee has filled out an official government form or employment contract, always use Flatten PDF prior to resizing so that typed text becomes a permanent part of the visual page.

Multiple documents can be dropped into the tool simultaneously to standardise an entire batch of quarterly reports or vendor invoices under identical layout rules. If you need to remove blank divider sheets or compress files for email delivery after resizing, use Continue with to transition between tools smoothly.

Questions

Why did my interactive checkboxes stop responding?

Reconstructing pages drops active form elements. To keep your answers intact, flatten the completed document before resizing.

Can I shrink large technical drawings to print on standard office paper?

Yes. Select A4 or US Letter as your target, and oversized A3 schematics will be scaled down cleanly to fit standard office trays.

Does adjusting paper sizes alter the resolution of scanned receipts?

No. Embedded scan images are transferred without recompression, so receipts, stamps, and office marks preserve their original clarity.

Can I convert several office files to A4 in one operation?

Yes. Add as many files as you need, and the tool will apply your selected size and margin settings across the whole batch.
